Roger Nix was born on March 25, 1935, in Clayton, Louisiana to the late Jimmy and Annie Nix. He was raised in Fayette, Mississippi by his brother, the late Ollie Nix, and sister-in-law, the late Thelma Nix. After moving to Jackson, Mississippi, he met and married the love of his life, Stella. He worked as a successful and advent businessman in the shoe repair industry for many years. Known in the community as the “Shoe Man”, his shoe repair shop, “Byram Shoe Repair”, was truly his heart and soul. He entered into his eternal rest on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

After serving as a member at Amazing Institutional Church of God in Christ, he united with St. Paul Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Jesse Kelly. He served with diligence and tenacity up until his illness.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dionne Nix. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Stella Nix of 40 years, one daughter Gynelle England, Atlanta, GA, two sons, Adam Nix and Troy Nix, Jackson, MS, one stepson, Anthony McGee (Bernadine), Jackson, MS, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
