Jeannette Tardy

Jeannette Tardy was born February 14, 1952 to the late Lucille Tardy and W.C. Stewart in Belzoni, Mississippi. Jeannette lived in Michigan for 49 years prior to relocating to Mississippi to be near family. She entered into eternal peace on January 10, 2024.

Jeannette graduated from Humphreys County High in 1970 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Jackson State University (Jackson, Mississippi) on May 27, 1974. She also received a Masters of Art from Eastern Michigan University (Ypsilanti, Michigan) on June 25, 1982.

Continuing her love for education, she went on to graduate from the Realtors Institute of Michigan on March 28, 1991 after which she adopted her second profession. She worked for ERA Genesee Valley Realty for more than 33 years as a realtor helping clients buy and sell homes, as well as helping clients to understand their preferences and needs by assisting them in navigating the complex real estate market. Jeannette was a dedicated and compassionate social worker for Genesee County and counselor for Mott Adult School. She worked her last stint as a counselor at Beecher Community School where she retired after over 40 plus years of providing personal, social, and psychological guidance.

Jeannette had a passion for golfing and you could often find her spending her free time playing, watching, and enjoying the sport in various ways. You could also find tributes to her love of the game throughout her home. She also had an eye for fashion and could be found shopping at various exclusive department stores.

She leaves to cherish her memories her sisters Marcia (Davis) Gates, Terry Mississippi, Arlisha Stewart, Memphis Tennessee, Dorothy Matthews, Hazelcrest, Illinois; her brothers Darnett (Gwenida) Tardy, Terry, Mississippi, Waynette (Helen) Tardy, Jackson, Mississippi, Bobby Tardy, Belzoni, Mississippi, Derex (Hanna) Stewart, Stockbridge, Georgia. Cousin Nina (Eric) O’neal Flint, Michigan. Uncle Roosevelt (Ruth) Tardy Flint, Michigan. Aunts Mary Alice Williams Lee, Belzoni, Mississippi, Quetta Smith and Ruby Jackson, Magee, Mississippi. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, coworkers and people who loved her dearly.
