Sis. Flora Reda Ard, known by many as “Aunt Flo”, was born on August 28, 1931 in Ruth, MS to the late Thomas and Ida Hill. She was the youngest of nine siblings.
On May 23, 1948 she was united in marriage to the late Alex Ard of Summit, MS. The Lord blessed them with seven sons.
Sis. Ard accepted the Lord at a very early age at Topisaw M. B. Church. She later attended St. Luther M. B. Church and Grace Bible Baptist Church. On January 4, 1987 she joined New Hope Baptist Church, pastored by the Rev. Dr. Jerry Young. There she served faithfully until the last three years of her life when she relocated to Minneapolis, MS due to health issues. While an active member at New Hope, she was a member of the WMU and Circle Number 2.
If you knew her, you knew how she liked growing and attending to flowers. Sis. Ard also loved her two hour morning daily devotions, reading her bible and daily prayers. Most of all, she loved the Lord.
March 6, 2020, Sister Ard made Heaven her home. She leaves to treasure her wonderful memories: five sons, Robert (Fannie), Thas (Joyce), Clifton, Danie, and Gary (Veronica); special sons Randy Spears and Michael Spears; grandkids, Mary, Aurora, Aaron, Antonio, Emanuel, Lillian, Cara, Nicole, Regina, Alex, Daryl, Danie II, Pierre, Christopher, Mario and Felix and a host of great grandkids, great-great grandkids, nieces, nephews and cousins.
