Donald (Don) Irby, 72, passed from this life to his Heavenly home on February 13, 2020 after a brief illness. Don was a wonderful husband, loving father to four children and twelve grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church in Byram. He was a retired mechanic who loved hunting and fishing. In his later years, he became an avid fan of western movies and enjoyed them every night! Don could tell quite a humorous story occasionally, and if you weren’t careful, you might believe that story! His greatest joy was his grandchildren.
He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Robin Irby; four children, Sherry Bond and her husband James of Gulfport, MS, Tammy Mixon and her husband Mark of Batesville, MS, Amber Thompson and her husband Raymond of Florence, MS and D. J. Irby and wife Tina Middleton Irby of Florence, MS; twelve grandchildren; one great granddaughter; four sisters, Linda Rowe, Alice Lee, Barbara Nichols, and Darlene Little; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol and Greg Putman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rhonda and Dale Skipper and John and Kayla Putman. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Heritage Baptist Church in Byram from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
