Barney Manuel

Mr. Barney Manuel was born on January 22, 1948, son of the late Mr. Frank Manuel and Mrs. Missouri Williams Hackett in Jackson, MS.  Barney Manuel received his formal education from Jackson Public School System, where he graduated from Brinkley High School.  Barney was known for his baseball skills and earned the nickname "RIP".  His baseball skills took him beyond Jackson, MS to Waco, Texas with a scholarship to play baseball for Paul Quinn College.

At an early age, he joined China Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  He enjoyed spending his time with family and friends.  He departed this life on December 18, 2016 surrounded by family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Willie Earl Manuel and daughters, Yolanda Manuel and Sikina Manuel Bonner.

He leaves to cherish his memories four sons:  Felix (Pamela) Manuel, Juan (Tynesha) Manuel, Alexander Manuel, Matthew Manuel; three sisters:  Mildred Hudson, Frankie Owens, Kay Veal; grandchildren: Grace, Felix, Jr., Camdyn, Jaylen, Montia, Raven, Kaleb and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
