Albert Cavett

Mr. Albert Lee Cavett was born on March 30, 1937, in Clinton, MS to the last Maude Taylor Cavett and Ike Cavett Sr. 

 

Mr. Cavett, also known as “Bae Boy” and “Meat Man”, was the sixth of twelve children born to this union. Mr. Albert Cavett accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Clinton, MS. He graduated from Sumner Hill High School. On March 11, 1958, he married Lula Mae James from Pocahontas, MS and to this union was 11 children. He moved to Jackson, MS and after 45 years, he retired as a truck driver from the Merchant Company. 

 

In his younger years, he joined a CB Club and was given the handle “Meat Man.” He was also the founder of the Magnum CB Club in Jackson, MS and traveled visiting other CB Clubs throughout the United States. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lula Mae James Cavett; his parents, Ike Sr. and Maude Cavett; his brothers, Kenneth Simmon, A.C. Smith, Fred Garner, Ike Cavett Jr., George Cavett and Willie C. Cavett; his sisters, Alice Bolton, and Irene Blocker; two sons, Dr. Samuel Alexander, and Roosevelt Bell; one daughter-in-law, Janice Grayer Cavett and one granddaughter, Starketa Cavett. 

 

He leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Marie Johnson; one sister-in-law, Helen Jones; his sons, Albert K. Cavett, Eddie C. Cavett Sr., Rocky Cavett, Johnny D. Cavett (Regina), Alex Dobbs and Steven Magee all of Jackson, MS; Ronnie Cavett (Belinda) and Tommy Cavett of Dallas, TX; Deonte Cavett (Melody) of Anniston, AL; his daughters, Susan Alexander, Ginger Carpenter, Jacqueline Watkins, Angelia Thomas (Tony), Jennifer Hayes and Lisa Hayes, all of Jackson, MS; Rosie M. Davis (James) of Lithonia, GA; Janice R. Floyd (Walter) of Leesville, LA; 58 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
